Tyler grew up in Lakeshore, Utah where he learned to work hard on the family
farm. Tyler lives in St George Utah and is married with two children. Tyler loves his family and works hard to provide a better life with them. Tyler graduated from the University of
Phoenix in August 2018 with his Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree. Tyler has worked in the substance abuse/ mental health field the past 18 years. He is passionate
about recovery and helping others out from under the grasp of mental health, trauma, and addictions. Tyler has been sober since July 15, 2008 and continues working with others in recovery. He is passionate about empowering individuals to find the strength to overcome life's obstacles. He strives to provide support while advocating for others in their journey towards recovery. Tyler is great with people. He has an ability to build meaningful relationships through trustworthiness and compassion. Through his passion and ability to connect with others, Tyler founded the Ripreza Fund in 2012. Tyler has built relationships with community leaders, local treatment
centers to bring awareness to trauma and addiction, and to educate families about the support
available to them. The resources raised by the non-profit helps scholarship individuals
into recovery and make up the difference of the support needed. Tyler is committed to helping the individuals wanting to help themselves.
Tyler is trained in multiple trauma therapies and has worked with adults and children for past 5 years. Therapies used to treat trauma include: Accelerated resolution Therapy (ART), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Tyler has found that these theories and practices are great resources for individuals that are struggling to work through their past traumas and deal with the depression and anxiety associated with trauma. Tyler also uses Acceptance Commitment therapy, a form of Cognitive behavioral therapy designed to help a person stay in the present moment and recommit to their values. Through this therapy Tyler likes to address character and personality, guiding individuals to connect the problem areas of their character that may be getting in the way of their happiness and success. Tyler loves to help individuals work toward a vision or goal. It is important to know where you are going, where you would like to go, and the road blocks that you have or will overcome along the way, building the character needed to find success.

ART incorporates a combination of techniques used in many other traditional psychotherapies. ART works directly to reprogram the way in which distressing memories and images are stored in the brain so that they no longer trigger strong physical and emotional reactions. ART accomplishes this through the use of rapid eye movements similar to eye movements that occur during dreaming. Although techniques similar to these are used in other types of therapies, ART’s very specific and directive approach can achieve rapid recovery from symptoms and reactions that may have been present for many years. ART combines long respected, sound treatment practices with safe and effective methods validated by current scientific research studies conducted by the University of South Florida.
This EMDR specialization will help guide and inspire you to achieve more of your personal and professional goals. EMDR is a specialized procedure in which the therapist guides you in concentrating on a troubled memory or emotion while you move your eyes rapidly back and forth (by following therapist fingers). Clients create a Dual Awareness toward their troubling memory or emotion. It happens fast and can speed up the process quicker than traditional therapy can.
As its name implies is a form of cognitive behavioral therapy that addresses the specific emotional and mental health needs of children, adolescents, adult survivors, and families who are struggling to overcome the destructive effects of early trauma. Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) is especially sensitive to the unique problems of youth with post-traumatic stress and mood disorders resulting from abuse, violence, or grief. Because the client is usually a child, TF-CBT often brings non-offending parents or other caregivers into treatment and incorporates principles of family therapy. Counseling

Invisible Condition Alert Program
Utah’s Invisible Conditions Alert Program, created by the Utah Legislature during the 2023 Legislative Session, is a voluntary program that allows a person with a qualifying physical or mental condition to have a decal placed on a driver's license or ID card.
Utah's Invisible Condition Alert Program is designed to promptly notify first responders about a person's invisible condition that may directly impact the person's ability to communicate. Early identification of an invisible condition during interactions allows first responders such as law enforcement, firefighters, or emergency medical personnel to approach situations with heightened awareness and respond appropriately.
Utah Code 53-3-207: Invisible conditions include: a communication impediment; hearing loss; blindness or visual impairment; autism spectrum disorder; drug allergy; Alzheimer’s disease or dementia; post-traumatic stress disorder; traumatic brain injury; schizophrenia; epilepsy; a developmental disability; Down syndrome; diabetes; a heart condition; or any other condition approved by the department.
If you choose to participate in this voluntary program and your therapist diagnoses you with a qualifying invisible condition, your therapist will assist you in completing the invisible condition request form and submiting it to the Driver’s License Division by mail, fax, email, or nearest office location.
